The Third Way! Some people spend enormous effort studying a foreign language without making any progress. Others listen to foreign language tapes in their sleep, hoping in vain to make progress without any effort. What if, though, there were a way to minimize time spent and yet still achieve results? What if there were a balanced, third way? In his speech, Benjamin Tobacman (linguist and author of Culture Shock, Harvard VS Todai) will discuss frequency-based, personalized study methods. To master a foreign language, what materials make for the best study tools? What is the most efficient way to use one 's memory? What is the fastest way to improve one's pronunciation of a foreign language? > These questions will be answered, and a comparative analysis of foreign language education in Japan, China, and the U.S. will follow. Please do not miss this rare opportunity to learn effective methods to learn foreign languages from a well-known American linguist!
